Oh yeah, the name of the playlist sort of comes from something an old crew boss of mine used to say when he thought a track was particularly sexy and a joke I subsequently made of it.

Fucking Music
I made a playlist for my dear friend Iskra for her 30th B-Day. Big day, big playlist. Point is, I went overboard as usual and didn't keep things simple. You'd think that there's only so far dropboxing some files to someone in Sweden could go, but I made some album art, and managed to spend a good few hours downloading programs trying to make it the album art icon for all the songs. Way harder than it seems and I actually failed. I'm into this drawing though. I'd really like to get more into making album art. If anybody happen to want this or a variant of it for a real album cover or show poster, let me know. I'd really like to make screen printed posters of it.

Wild Ways
My friend and roommate Conrad released his band's first EP recently and used my multiple exposure photos from Burning Man three years ago as the album cover! So cool. You should listen to his album and/or download it for free.
My print is up in the Art Republic Gallery in London. It's there on the back wall bottom. Apparently one of the prints above it by one of the ''Kings of Pop Art''. That's pretty cool I guess.
Apparently 20 or so prints have sold from the production I did in LA. They're still online . Alright, alright. Not the best, not the worst.

Festival Face Paint Sessions
I love face painting! It's super fun! It's just another form of ephemeral art when you think about it.
<<<----------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>>
Weather Spice got her face painted her namesake at Shambhala. Richard Coleman inspired.

Hat matching.
I really like this one. Bad picture though. Sorry Gilda.

I painted Ilana's face to match my mural at Burning Man.

Pine Cone vs Feather: Burning Man Mural
I painted a mural this year at Burning Man in center camp. I got into the festival 2 days early to do it and it was pretty much a non-stop process. I pulled an all nighter on the Sunday before the gates opened to the general public so I could start festivaling myself. It is a bigger version of this sketch http://shouldercat.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-planters-ball.html from the Planter's Ball in June. I decided to chose a lighter, more positive, less critical theme than usual to try and be more in the Burning Man spirit and less of an asshole. I think it was a good choice. I guess this is the 3rd mural I've ever done (see 'mural' label at the bottom), and it's the first all just acrylic with paint brush and permanent marker. I went for a very illustrative not so street art style. That is all.

Capped Deer #3 and #4
These are somewhere out on the Likely Highway, near Beaver Lake Road. We saw one of them every day on our way back from work so that was fun.

The Planter's Ball
Over a month ago, a truck load of us drove 4 hours directly after work to Merritt for the very anticipated Planter's Ball. Maybe it seems like an extreme commute for only one night of partying but never had a planting party been so hyped up in 10 years of this shit. It helped that we had been the satellite crew of the company and hadn't interacted with other humans other than the 11 of us in over a month. We hadn't really partied in that time. We had a lot of pent up energy, let me tell you. There must have been at least 15 companies and over 200 planters that showed up to wreck havoc on Merritt. Here are a couple of sketches from my epic night. I didn't bring my camera out which I now deeply regret because I could have captured a sludge puddle at the bottom of a motel pool on fire with costumed boys running around it and falling in, dripping with what looked like diarrhea water.

After the bar closed I found a pine cone in a parking lot as I had a heart to heart with my sister. At first I thought it was a lucky pine cone to receive such attention and have an opportunity different from all his brother and sister pine cones, but then we realized that maybe the pine cone wouldn't consider itself lucky, so we decided it was safe to say it was a special pine cone. Then on the way to the Sandman Motel for the after party, I ran into this guy who had a feather. At first I made fun of it because it was a shitty died blue feather (and the guy was a bit slow) but then he offered it to me and I realized it was as special as my pine cone. I refused the gift as it was already costing me enough energy lavishing my pine cone with so much attention.

This is gold tights. She was wild. She made her grand entrance by climbing over the pool fence (although there were ample entrances that required no climbing) with a stream of toilet paper flowing from her ass as she danced around with exaggerated movements. She came up right close to my face one time, and I was super confused because she looked really old, but I wasn't in the right state to be making those sorts of judgements. Throughout the night she continued dancing and acting like a savage. At one point she squatted down by the sludge puddle of diarrhea water, cupped some in her hands and poured it all over her body. In the morning she climbed from the ground floor of the motel up to the balcony where we were hanging out and it turns out that it's true, she's almost 50 and pumps out tree planting children.

The World's Largest Organism
I was driving with Dylan in his tiny '84 (or '82?) Toyota Tercel early early one day off and he told me that Aspen technically are the largest organism in the world. Apparently when they are in big clumps they are all actually part of the same root system and clones of each other. I decided not to look it up, but this is what it made me think of. I drew it about a month ago, also the picture is shitty, hard to get a good shot for some reason. I'll scan it in Vancouver.

Happy Birthday to Me
It was my birthday a couple of days ago. Got to Williams Lake and on the stampede fair grounds joining GRAD '89, GRAD '07, and I think GRAD '99 was the best birthday present ever (along with a song the same person wrote me for my birthday last year), HAPPY B-DAY TOBY. Epic and so bad ass. Thank you! I am immortalized on the tin roof of the William's Lake Stampede grounds for an indeterminate number of years. It's hard to see in the photo but it's on the tin roof. Best of all, the Stampede is this weekend and it'll be in all the photos.

The Most Magical
It was The Most Magical Annie's birthday on May 21st. I made her a birthday card and got a drawing a shift done in one. I tried drawing on some birch bark I collected on the block. Turns out ink works on it. Cool! But not pencil crayon. I have a huge stiff piece I want to try some gouache on when I'm back home.
