I've talked smack about doing this at every possible opportunity, but never followed through, so finally I did it. I put someone who is absent (or about to be absent) on a popsicle stick. My roommate Claire is going away for 8 months, we had a party. I cut out 19 photos of her, put them on popsicle sticks and gave them away so she can still have a presence at functions when she's away.
I've been a very bad little blogger lately but I have some things in the works that will hopefully reach a threshold soon in a storm of new posts. Popsicle stick procrastination for now.
And here comes the entourage of planting/summer photography cuz that's all I've got to show for myself art-wise in 4 months. These are some home made soft box photos taken primarily by the hand of Garrett Jones and assisted by myself truly with the occasional guest shot. We just captured everyone in the moment around the fire on one of the last nights off in Bun Shack Shit Camp. Note the special presence of our 13 year old ms. assistant cooks.
My first roll of Holga photos turned out to be mostly a failure. These are pretty much the only barely usable photos that came out of a 36 exposure roll of self-roll, colour single perforated really old film. Everything was underexposed cuz the film was only 160 ISO and the Holga shoots at a pretty small aperature of 8 or 11. I kind like them but hopefully I'll have better and more results with a higher speed film next round.
Me and Darryl at his studio.
I think this is little Mieke in the greenhouse at Concordia.
My friends Russell, Garrett and Byron just started a band, so we did a little preemptive photo shoot. You know what they say, every good band got their start with good pictures. Right?
These are complementary photos to my White Out series for my final photo project. The scans were really bad so I had to fuck around with them a little on photoshop for them to look more like the original prints. Obviously the originals look way better.
This is an art blog where I post my artistic endeavors as I travel, tree plant and try and find a place to grow some roots so I can finally get a shoulder cat. You will find a mix of street art, drawing, painting, photography, screen printing, 3D works, video and some journalism.
